SBHSDebating
Rebranding and Poster Design
SBHSDebating is the debating programme of Sydney Boys High School, a selective school in Sydney's inner city. After a change in administration in 2005 and the launch of an ambitious plan for growth and development, SBHSDebating called on Raymond Roca Creativity to design a new identity and formulate a new brand for the programme, consisting of a new logo (view logo), as well as an increase in advertising and a new layout for publications and advertisements.
Subsequently, Raymond Roca Creativity also designed a series of other print works for SBHSDebating (view designs), including posters that were displayed at the school's annual Open Day, a registration form for the Annual Debating Dinner, print advertisements for various debates and events and cover designs for SBHSDebating's reference publications.
SBHSDebating's rebranding sought to emphasise that the debating programme had been completely relaunched and transformed, into a progressive and professional institution, while also encouraging a broader range of students to participate in debating, through the slogan of "Aspire Higher". In 2005, the first year after the rebranding, the number of students taking part in the debating programme almost doubled, with this number increasing further in 2006.
As part of the rebranding effort, Raymond Roca Creativity also designed a website for SBHSDebating which included an online registration system, making SBHSDebating the first co-curricular activity at SBHS, and the first high school debating organisation in the GPS, to have an entirely-paperless registration system.
